Today is the 4th part of my series on Photography locations around the Elk Grove and Sacramento Area that are great for portrait sessions. This week I am highlighting Laguna Town Hall and the Davis Arboretum. Both are very charming and offer a wide range of spots and scenery that make for beautiful spots and backdrops for portraits.

LAGUNA TOWN HALL INFORMATION

Description:

This park is located in Laguna West and surrounds the Laguna Town Hall Reception Center. It is a Mediterranean-style park setting with a courtyard that features a grand pergola draped in wisteria vines.  The park also has 2 large outdoor concrete staircases with railings.  To the side of the Town Hall there is a beautiful rose garden area with wrought iron benches along with brick half walls.  The picturesque lake, and fountain nearby offer a scenic backdrop for special photographs with family and friends.

Time:

Either Golden hour or early-morning are great for park. 

Parking:

There is a parking in the back as well as along the street

Fee:

There is no fee for this area

Features:

1.     Beautiful scenery

2.     Courtyard with a pergola with wisteria vines

3.     Gorgeous rose garden

4.     Large grassy area for sitting

5.     2 large staircases for great photo posing

6.     Lake, bridge and fountain just a short walk down a beautiful tree lined trail

UC Davis Arboretum:

Davis, CA.

UC DAVIS ARBORETUM:

Description:

UC Davis Arboretum Trail and Gardens is a 3.6-mile paved loop trail located near UC Davis, California that features a river that runs right in the middle. It has a beautiful grove of redwood trees. It offers so many different plants and flowers throughout the trail and garden. The collection includes some 22,000 trees and plants species.  There are benches to sit and relax and a large grassy area for picnics and photo options. The trail has several unique bridges that cut through the middle of the area. 

Time:

Either Golden hour or mid-morning are great for this area. 

Parking:

There is campus parking right next to the Arboretum for $1.50/hour during the weekdays and is free for weekends.

Fee:

There is no fee for the Arboretum and Public Gardens

Features:

1.     Gorgeous, paved trail that loops around the whole Arboretum

2.     Redwood grove with fallen trees perfect for posing

3.     Tons of flowers and plants

4.     Large grassy area for sitting

5.     Unique bridges that offer fun posing opportunities

6.     Benches throughout the Arboretum
