4 Tips for Choosing Outfits for your Senior Portraits
Senior Portraits Session Tips in Elk Grove, CA.
1. VARIETY
is everything! You donāt go to Disneyland and just ride the Matterhorn the whole day. You want to go on lots of different rides, so you have an amazing and fun experience. This applies to choosing your outfits. You want to make sure you have an assortment of styles and colors to give you a more dynamic set of images. Make sure that your outfits arenāt all dresses, jeans, or shorts. With styles think urban, chic, casual, sophisticated, etc.
2. COLORS MATTER!
Not every color looks good on everybody. Do you have that particular color that when you wear it, you look washed out or drab? Have you ever figured out what colors look best on your skin tone? This can make or break the glow & color your skin gives off in your portraits.
3. KEEP TO YOUR STYLE!
Just because your best friend wore a really bold pattern and color for her portraits, and looked great, it doesnāt mean you should too. If you normally wouldnāt wear those patterns or colors, then stay away! Stay true to what you would normally wear to best represent yourself.
4. STAY CLASSIC!
Remember that there is a season for everything, and that includes fashion. What is in style now may not be in style later. There are always fads in fashion and even if something is all the rage now, err on the side of classic sophistication for your session day. You donāt want to look at your senior portraits in 5 years and say, āWhat the heck was I thinking?!?ā
Now you can begin looking at options for you senior session. Remember, keep true to yourself and what you want your session and images to be. If you want additional information about specific outfit ideas, see my blog post on Senior Portraits Outfit Ideas
