Newborn Photography with Florals, Family, and Love | Welcome Addison Mary
Newborn Photos | Elk Grove, California
Photographing newborns is one of the greatest joys I have as a photographer. It’s such an honor to capture those first sweet, sleepy moments of a newborn’s life—moments that are as fleeting as they are precious. Every time I work with a new family, I’m reminded of just how special this job is, but my recent session with Addison Mary Arevalo was especially meaningful.
Addison is beyond words—her tiny features, her peaceful expressions, and her gentle presence stole my heart from the moment she arrived. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing her mom, Natalie, in the past for her college graduation photos, so when Natalie reached out to me about a newborn session, I couldn’t have been more excited. To make it even more special, Addison’s grandmother, Christine, is an old high school friend of mine. We even cheered together in high school! Getting to capture Addison with three generations of wonderful women was truly something I’ll never forget.
For Addison’s session, Natalie wanted a soft, feminine theme, with lots of florals and pinks to highlight her daughter’s sweet and delicate nature. She brought along the cutest pink tutu and headband, which added such a lovely pop of color and fit perfectly with the overall look. Another beautiful personal touch was a family keepsake—a charming little owl that says “Owl Always Love You,” a tribute to Addison’s late great-grandmother.
Natalie also wanted to incorporate a hint of Christmas for her baby girl’s first holiday season, so she brought along Addison’s stocking with her initial on it. We also included a sweater embroidered with Addison’s name, making for a truly unique and memorable setup. Throughout the session, Addison was such a trooper, peacefully resting and content as we moved through various setups and poses.
The family photos were a highlight of the session—seeing the love and joy shared between Natalie, Edwin, and little Addison was truly heartwarming. And with grandma Christine in attendance, we captured a beautiful three-generation portrait that I know they’ll cherish for years to come. It was a special moment for everyone, and I felt so privileged to be part of it.
Capturing these memories for Addison and her family made my heart so full. Being able to give families these keepsake moments is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Thank you, Natalie, Edwin, and Christine, for letting me be a part of Addison’s first big moments. Welcome to the world, little Addison—you are so very loved!
