Capturing Dreams: Isabel's College Campus Portraits - A Graduation Photo Story

What an amazing session! It was like stepping into a dream. Isabel Esparza was an absolute natural in front of the camera, effortlessly embodying the spirit of a college grad ready to take on the world. Her mom, Angelica, who happens to work with my husband, reached out to me to capture this major milestone – Isabel's graduation from California State University Sacramento with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development in the fall of 2023.
Isabel had her heart set on doing the shoot on campus, and it was the perfect backdrop for her portraits. We started in front of the College of Education building, where she spent so much of her time in classes, and then moved on to capture the iconic university sign.
As we explored the campus, we found so many wonderful spots for photos, and Isabel was an absolute joy to work with. We laughed, joked, and rocked out to some Bruno Mars tunes while we captured her personality and accomplishments through her outfits – from a tee representing her dedication to working with children, to a stunning blue floral dress that perfectly complemented her vibrant spirit.
And let's not forget her cap and gown, complete with a special "First Generation" drape – a powerful symbol of her trailblazing journey to becoming the first college graduate in her family.
The best part? Seeing Isabel's excitement when she saw her sneak peeks. Mom also told me that when they got home from the session, Isabel told her dad all about the session and what a wonderful experience it was. It's moments like those that remind me why I love what I do.
Isabel, thank you for entrusting me with this milestone in your life. It was an honor to capture your radiance, and I am beyond excited to see where your journey takes you. Here's to many more adventures and dreams fulfilled!
