Senior Portraits on the Family Dairy Farm | Scarlett Simoes |Elk Grove High School
Elk Grove Senior Photos Class of 2025
Celebrating Scarlett | A Country-Inspired Senior Session in Elk Grove, CA
There’s something extra special about photographing a senior on their own family property—especially when that property happens to be a working dairy farm! Scarlett Jolie Simoes, Class of 2025 at Elk Grove High School, brought so much joy, heart, and personality to her senior portrait session, and I’m so excited to share her story (and these images!) with you.
From the moment I pulled onto the property, I knew this was going to be a session to remember. Scarlett had a clear vision—she wanted to include the special pieces of her life that meant the most to her: her family’s land, her grandfather’s blue Chevy truck and yellow Jeep, and her cousin Jane, who joined in for a few fun cousin portraits.
She started the session in a cream-colored sundress with sweet flower stitching and her trusty cowboy boots—an outfit that was both simple and beautiful, and so perfectly her. We explored the open pastures and soft golden light while country music played in the background (yes, the cows were listening too—and they made a few surprise appearances by photobombing us at every stop!).
Scarlett later changed into a classic pair of jean shorts and a white peasant tank, keeping the boots on for that down-to-earth, country-girl vibe. I loved how relaxed and confident she was in front of the camera—this girl truly glows.
One of the highlights? Taking photos with her grandfather’s vintage vehicles. The old blue Chevy truck had such character, and the yellow Jeep added a playful pop of color. We even hopped over to the family tractor—because when you’re raised on a dairy farm, that’s part of the story too!
A personal moment that really stood out—Scarlett gave up part of her own session time because she wanted to include her cousin Jane. Jane wasn’t originally planning on senior photos, but Scarlett convinced her to jump in, and I’m so glad she did! We captured some beautiful portraits of Jane and a few sweet cousin shots that I know their family will treasure.
From start to finish, this session was filled with sunshine, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Scarlett, thank you for letting me capture your senior year in such a meaningful way. I loved walking the farm with you, listening to your favorite songs, and photographing you in your element.
Congratulations, Scarlett—you’re headed into an exciting new chapter, and I can’t wait to see where it takes you!
